Objective This program aims to provide assistance to families and communities to return as quickly as possible to normality in the three areas of life most severely affected by the devastating 2006 earthquake: household life; livelihoods; and education. YCAP currently focuses on the restoration of community livelihoods and the re-establishment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the affected districts; strengthening local capacity to engage in rehabilitation efforts; and improving household economic security at the community level. YCAP staff  facilitate participatory mapping processes to assist the community in identifying viable economic livelihood opportunities and further develop strategies and models to re-establish local livelihoods and grass roots/family based businesses, leading to local economic recovery.
